The Orioles play in probably one of the most important ball parks in the history of the MLB from an architectural standpoint. Right before Camden Yards was built aprox 20 years ago (jeez that long already?), all new stadiums were Cookie Cutters. They were all either circular or nearly circular, many were multipurpose, and for the most part they all looked identical. That makes sense because they were all “stadiums”. Oriole Park ushered in a new era of Ball Parks.
That being said here is a quick list of things you need to see at Camden Yards this weekend:
2) Eutaw Street in front of the park used to be really popping before games. However there's a hotel there now so the party has been shifted a block to Pickles.
3) Boogs BBQ: I'll have more about this in the food section, but Boog is usually there, and he generally talks to fans and signs autographs.
4) The Warehouse: You can't miss this, cause its big, but it gives the ball park a ton of character. On the walk infront of the warehouse are markers for all the homers that landed on Eutaw Street.
5) The view from the top of the stadium gives a great view of Bmore, which is nice.
What about the food?
2) Attman's Deli: It is a New York Deli that moved to Baltimore in the early 1900's and now its at Camden Yards. Probably not your first choice but an interesting idea.
3) Esskay Hotdogs. Its not close to Nathans, but its what Baltimore does…sorta.
4) There is one hot dog vendor who actually writes Orioles on your hot dog….in ketchup. If it was mustard than this would be completely awesome, but its the wrong condiment.
Quick Reminder:
Saturday Night is an Oriole purple and black hat.
