The Mets need a win in the worst way today, and they are looking at Matt Harvey to help make that happen. Last night the Mets dropped the game 6-4 against Atlanta, and the Nationals pulled ahead to take first place by half a game.
Matt Harvey is 7-4 over 13 games and 86.2 innings with a 3.32 ERA. He a tremendous start his last time out going 7.0 scoreless innings striking out 6. In 2013 he was 1-0 against the Braves in one start where he allowed 3 ER over 7.0 innings while striking out 13 batters. Atlanta has the following numbers against Harvey:
- Freeman 0-6
- Maybin 1-4, 2B
- C Johnson 0-3
- Simmons 1-3
- Uribe 2-3
The Mets draw a familiar pitcher in Julio Teheran tonight who is 4-3 over 14 games and 81.2 innings with a 5.07 ERA. The Mets faced him twice in April. In the first game they scored 3 runs, only 1 earned over 6.0 innings on their way to a victory and in their second game they tagged him for 4 earned runs over 4.1 innings, the Mets eventually lost that game. The Mets have the following numbers against Julio:
