Some quick hits to go with your Tuesday morning Powdered Doughnut:
1) The Mets lost a close one last night as they fell 3-2 to the Reds in the 11th inning. The Mets are now in a three game slide. I have yet though to fall into a “here we go again” feeling partially because its April but also because I think this is really just a a hiccup. Hopefully the Mets turn it around tonight.
2) The Phillies also lost last night, so if you are one of those people watching the standings in May, you can breath easy.
3) I am losing my patience with GMJ. Matt Cerrone of Metsblog said it best when in the last few weeks, all of us who don't play in the majors have the same amount of hits as GMJ. Honestly I can't wait for Beltran and Murphy to come back, they give the bench so much depth.
4) Orioles lost, falling back down to Earth.
5) In cased you missed it, Kelvim Escobar will have season ending surgery. There goes that possible comeback story for the Mets.
