Game Preview: Mets @ Marlins

Last night was a mess of a game for the Mets as they allowed 13 runs and scored only 1 in Miami. Harvey allowed 2 runs through 3 innings and then things went off the rails. He allowed 3 runs the next inning and was charged with 2 more the next. Robles and Milone also struggled and boom, 7 run 5th inning for the Marlins. The Mets will look to rebound tonight with Seth Lugo.

Seth Lugo is 6-5 over 16 starts and 15 games pitching 86.1 innings with a 5.21 ERA, 4.07 FIP and 1.459 WHIP. His last start against the Cubs was rough as he allowed 8 runs, 7 earned in 3.0 innings. He’s been alternating recently between terrible and good ad his pitch count has been limited. Earlier this season, in one start against the Marlins, he allowed 3 runs, 2 earned over 6.0 innings from 6 hits and a walk. The Marlins have the following numbers against Lugo:

The Mets bats draw Orisamer Despaigne tonight who is 0-3 over 15 games and 5 starts in 39.1 innings with a 4.35 ERA, 4.38 FIP and 1.500 WHIP. He started September off with a strong 7.0 inning outing where he allowed 1 run from 5 hits and 2 walks. He followed that up with a start in Atlanta where he allowed 5 runs from 4 hits and 6 walks in 3.2 innings. In his only start against the Mets this year he allowed 8 runs, 3 earned from 5 hits and 4 walks in 4.2 innings. Later in the year he recorded one out in relief against the Mets while also allowing 2 hits, a walk and 3 runs. The Mets have the following numbers against Despaigne:
