Mets Breakfast

Some quick hits to go with your Monday morning Cupcake Pebbles Cereal*:

1) The Mets capped off a nice sweep of the Marlins yesterday in dramatic fashion. At one point in the game the Mets were down 5-0, when the Mets are in a funk this feels like game over. However the Mets scored 3 runs in sixth. Then in the seventh the score was 6-3 and Francoeur hit a clutch bomb to make it 6-6. Finally the Mets were gifted the go-ahead run by an odd managerial call by Freddy Gonzalez who played his defense at double play depth with no outs and runners on the corners. Whatever. Mets win!

2) Fun Fact: Four teams in the AL East (so all the teams not including the Orioles) have a better record than all the teams in AL West and 4 of the 5 teams in the Central. If the Twins played in East, they would trail the Rays and Yankees, and would be a half game above the Red Sox and the Blue Jays.

3) MLB Draft is tonight. Should be an interesting night. You can watch it on the MLB Network and their's not a Mets game on so I guess that's a viable option. (I still don't understand watching drafts).

4) A thought that was talked about way earlier in the season here has surfaced. Over the weekend, when using Tejada, the Mets had a infield of players that were homegrown.

*I was at the local grocery store yesterday and stopped in my tracks when I saw this cereal. Seriously, cupcakes for breakfast? Ridiculous! I'll probably have it some day though.
