Mets Breakfast

Some quick hits to go with your Tuesday morning Belgium Waffels:

1) The Mets snapped their 5 game slide last night with Pelfrey playing stopper as he went deep into the game (7.2 innings) allowing only 2 ER. There was some additional drama in the 8th as the Braves were only down by one, and they got the bases loaded with two outs against Feliciano. This was a crucial moment in the game. If Pedro gave up the lead, its that “here we go again” and the ripple effects could have started going across the season. Instead he got an amazing strikeout and sent the Mets into the ninth inning with the one run lead. Good looking game guys.

2) Seriously, GMJ? I know he got two hits the night before, but lets stop it with him, please? The only bright side of him playing was it finally moved Barajas farther up the lineup, which he deserves (and what the team needs as well).

3) Chris Carter. All he does is get hits. Amazing. (It's also fun listening to the announcers describe him in the club house, he is going to become, if not already, a fan favorite very quickly).

4) I'll admit it. When I got back to my apartment late last night after studying for finals, I watched the end of the Yankee/Red Sox game. It was wild.

5) It was supposed to be a surprise, but a locker room name tag reveals that the most likely candidate to start on Weds will be Dickey.
