The Mets start a road series tonight in Miami as they take on the Florida Marlins. First off, in case you are wondering, the name of the stadium is now Sun Life Stadium. Anyway the Mets are coming off of a 3-3 homestand where it feels like they could have won every single game. They hope to put together those final few pieces tonight against the Marlins.
The Mets will be sending out Santana (3-2, 4.54) who in his last start wasn't as bad as his line suggested. He personally allowed 3 runers through 7.2 innings (the longest outing by a Mets pitcher this season) but the pen allowed another run to cross the plate. He's already faced the Marlins once this year in the first game of the season as he picked up win with a 6 inning, one run performance where he struck out 5 and walked 2. These are the stats the Marlins have on Santana over his career:
Helms 3-17
Ramirez 3-18
Uggla 1-19, HR
Ross 3-18
The Mets will have to deal with the ace of the Marlins staff, Josh Johnson (3-1, 3.35 ERA) as he looks to face the Mets for the second time this season. During his first time against the Mets this season, he only lasted 5 innings and allowed 4 ER. However, he is pitching much better in his last three games as he has a 2.57 ERA. The Mets have these numbers against Johnson lifetime:
Wright 4-20, HR
Reyes 4-16, 2B
Tatis 8-12, 2B, HR
