Game Preview: Cubs vs Mets

Last night was rough. Syndergaard had a terrible start to the game and the Mets were down 10-1 by the end of the third inning. But then the magic bubbled up again and the Mets were able to make it close, but still fell 10-7. Tonight becomes a crucial salvage game, there’s a huge difference falling 1 additional game behind the team you’re trailing and falling 3 additional games back. Let’s make it happen Mets!

Jacob deGrom takes the mound for the Mets tonight. He is 8-7 over 26 games and 162.0 innings with a 2.56 ERA, 2.67 FIP, 1.037 WHIP and 160 ERA+. He’s also currently leading the league in strikeouts at 207. Jacob is coming off of a strong start where he held the Braves to 1 run over 7.0 innings and hit a homer while striking out 13 batters.
