The Mets completed the three game sweep of the Twins at home this weekend and thanks to the Cardinals and Giants playing each other, they now also have a one game lead for the top Wild Card spot and a two game lead over the Cardinals. Noah Syndergaard looks to keep it going tonight as the Mets welcome the Braves to Queens.
Syndergaard is 13-8 over 29 games and 28 starts over 174.0 innings with a 2.43 ERA. In his last five starts he has tossed 34.0 innings, walking 10 and allowing 17 hits while striking out 34 and holding opponents to only 4 ER (1.06 ERA). Surprisingly, this will be Noah’s first start against the Braves this year. Last year he was 0-0 in two starts against the Braves totaling 11.0 innings with a 3.27 ERA. The Mets draw Aaron Blair in the series opener. He’s 0-6 over 12 starts and 54.2 innings while allowing 29 walks. In his last two starts he has allowed 13 ER over 8.1 innings including a start against the Mets where he allowed 8 ER over 4.1 innings. In total against the Mets this year he has allowed 14 ER over 15.2 innings. The Mets have the following numbers against Aaron:
