The Mets had a rough night in Arizona last night, and they look to turn it around as the God of Thunder comes to the desert. Noah Syndergaard is 9-7 over 23 games and 22 starts this season pitching 134.1 innings with 163 K’s and a 2.75 ERA. August hasn’t been the greatest month for him so far as he has allowed 7 ER over 11.0 innings including 3 ER over 8 hits and 5.0 innings against the Diamondbacks in his last start. These last two games have been only the second time this season Noah has picked up losses in back to back starts. Arizona has the following numbers against Syndergaard:

The Mets bats will get another look at Braden Shipley who is making his 5th career MLB start tonight. In his first four, he is 2-1 over 24.1 innings with a 2.96 ERA striking out 17 batters while walking 12. His best start in his young career so far was his last, which was also against the Mets where he held the Amazin’s to only 3 hits over 7.0 innings while walking only 1 and striking out 7.
