Game Preview: Mets @ Diamondbacks

The Mets are finally coming off of a series win as they head out west to face the Diamondbacks. After dropping the first game against the Padres this past weekend, the Mets were able to win the next two including Steven Matz taking a no-hitter into the 8th inning yesterday. Now the Mets can look for revenge after their horrid series with the Diamondbacks earlier last week.

Bartolo Colon will start things off for the Mets. He’s 10-6 over 24 games and 23 starts and 134.1 innings with a 3.35 ERA. In his last two starts he has allowed 2 ER over 13.2 innings including a 1 ER over 7.0 innings with 8 K’s performance against the Diamondbacks in his last start (a game the Mets eventually lost 3-2). The Diamondbacks have the following numbers against Colon:

  • Segura 3-9, 2B
  • Bourn 1-7
  • Goldschmidt 2-6, 2B
  • Owings 3-6, 2B
  • Brito 0-3
  • Frury 0-3
  • Hernandez 0-3
  • Lamb 0-3
  • Loewen 1-2

The Mets will get another crack at Robbie Ray who is 5-11 over 23 starts and 128.0 innings of work with a 4.57 ERA. After three bad starts in a row where he gave up a combined 17 runs, 13 earned over 16.2 innings, he allowed no runs and only 3 hits in his last start against the Mets. The Mets have the following numbers on Robbie:

  • Bruce 3-9, 2B, HR
  • Reyes 2-5
  • Flores 0-5
  • Granderson 0-3
  • Kelly 1-3
  • Walker 1-3
  • d’Arnaud 0-2
  • TJ Rivera 0-2
