The Cardinals come to town tonight as the Mets try to bounce back from dropping two straight.Last night the Mets just couldn't get it going against the Marlins in a make up game as they dropped their third of four game since returning to the All-Star break. While things are looking up on the horizon (return of Reyes, Wright) the Mets still need to get through this series.
Dillon Gee gets the nod tonight as he takes his 8-3 record with a 3.76 ERA up against the red birds. July has just been an ugly month for Gee who has pitched 12.2 innings this month and has allowed 9 ER. Gee has not faced the Cardinals as a franchise, nor has he faced any individual batters on the team.
The Mets bats will get a chance to redeem themselves from last night against Kyle Lohse who is 8-6 this season with a 3.32 ERA. He has also struggled in the month of July allowing 12 ER in 12 innings of work. In his career he is 2-3 with a 5.85 ERA against the Mets. The Mets batters have the following numbers on him:
