Angel Pagan

One of the players making a good argument for the bench, especially with all of the injuries, is Angel Pagan. In the 2008 season, he will be 26 years old and will be an important player for the Mets who need depth.
Here are some of his old stats:
Spring Training:
2004: 3 Games, no AB
2005: 5G, 0-5
2006: 24 G, 42 AB, 13 R, 16 H, 10 RBI, .381
2007: 15 G, 27AB, 5 R, 6 H, 0 RBI, .222
MLB Regular Season: 148 G, 318 AB, 49 R, 81 H, 39 RBI, .255

And in this Spring Training:
8 G, 28AB, 3 R, 12 H, 5 RBI, .429
I also wrote about Pagan once before, and that can be found here.

If he continues in April, what he has done in March, then he will be a fine player for the Mets off the bench. I am worried though that we are walking into a David Newhan situation, who had amazing Springs for the Mets, and performed very poorly off of the bench for the Mets in pinch hit situations.
Update:
I just saw his double on ESPN, and it was a really nice swing that he deposited into Left Field. That swing was destined to send that ball into double territory.
