SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
A far cry from '05, which at this point, the Mets were 0-3.
So much for winning on small ball and pitching. Hello to winning on the long ball and pitching.
The MVP of last night's game is Maine. The seven innings he gave were gold. Now, its unreasonable to expect that everytime. However there were a lot of things he did that showed he will be much better than than a lot of the critics think.
He kept his pitches down. And when he would bring his fast ball up, it was up and in, so it could be blasted out of the ball park (and actually just messed with Edmonds on a nasty looking strikeout).
He also took good care of Pujols. Albert has owned Maine until this point, I love to see them meet again later this season and see how Maine handles him again, just so its known that this performance is not a fluke.
Ok, on to the hitting. 3 homeruns…about time someone on the team homered, Thanks to those three, the Mets are now averaging one homerun per game. And their team ERA, is now 0.67
Now what to expect on Friday. The Braves place Redman on the mound, while Perez goes for the Mets. We already know about Perez, how this start is so important for him and stuff. But what about Redman.
Reddman, as you know, was signed to replace Hampton untill he comes back. What you probably didnt know about him is that Green has had 6 carear AB and 6 hits agaisnt him. On that same note, DWright is 0-6 agaisnt him.
Other notes, if the Braves win tonight, then its a tie for first 3-0, so this series wont decide the season, but might be a series that we look back on in October.
GAME ON FOX, SATURDAY! THREE METS GAME TELEVIZED IN ONE WEEK IN BMORE.
