Last year, during the first week of the season, ESPN, ran a segment on Sports Center called “New Places Same Faces” about players on their new team. So lets look at Steve Trachsel of the Baltimore Orioles.
Opening up the Baltimore Sun today, the headline blared “Unlike in NLCS, He handles Cardinals allowing 1 run and 3 hits in 3 innings”
Ouch…thats a way to start the morning.
So Steve had a good outing. His first outing of the Spring (i believe agaisnt the Marlins) he pitched one inning, allowed four hits and 3 runs…so two very different starts for Steve.
He was asked to compare this start yesterday to game 3 of the NLCS, to that he said:
“Completely different, Completetly different, Here I am working on things, There I was just trying to get through innings'
Also, when reading notes about the game, Steve had a lot of help in the first innng due to a diving catch form Mora and a leaping snare from Huff to take hits away from Pujlos and Spiezeo
